Here at the Vallejo People's Garden, we practice crop rotation, companion planting, use of organic fertilizers such as bone meal, horse manure, and compost tea--just to name a few. We now also have a worm bin (actually two) thanks to master gardener Steve E. He made our worm bin using a recycled wine barrel and refined our recycled treasure chest that will soon hold all the fixings that make for a productive worm bin.
