Vallejo People's Garden 

Volunteer day this Saturday, July 9 at the garden from 9am-12noon behind 1055 Azuar Drive on Mare Island. See old friends and make new ones. We'll have several tasks including planting geraniums, harvesting veggies, and adding mulch to the garden beds. Bring your hat, gloves, water bottle or coffee cup. We'll have freshly brewed coffee! The Community of Gardens Tour is this Sunday, May 15th from 10am-3pm. One of the stops is the Vallejo People's Garden. Garden Tour tickets are available at the Vallejo Museum (734 Marin St.) or at Zoey June Gift & Garden (1426 Tennessee St.). Don't miss this great event! Or stop by our community garden to volunteer. Bring your gloves, sturdy shoes, and shovel to help us add compost to a few of the raised beds.

Everyone welcome!  We'll be transplanting squashes and melons, moving mulch, and planting more starts. Bring your gloves, hat, and water bottle. Moschetti Espresso is once again providing their amazing coffee free to volunteers!

So we know we said we would build the raised beds last week, but we discovered together that getting ready to build them (cutting lumber, etc) was a very big job. Now we are really ready. Carpenter Doug has even built one bed for other volunteers to copy. If you have a cordless drill, a C clamp, or a bar clamp, please mark it with an identifying mark of some sort and bring it with you. Bring: work gloves, sturdy shoes, water bottle
